What You Get
A fundraising initiative to renovate the Tuscora Park major league baseball diamond, also known as Field #1, into a state-of-the-art baseball complex is underway. A group of baseball enthusiasts organized to create “Turf Tuscora Diamond,” a project that will be completed in 4 phases. Each phase of renovation is a separate entity, designed to permit the game to be played without interruption.
Why renovations are necessary:
1) The current upkeep of Field #1 consumes many manpower hours and supplies that are often wasted when there is inclement weather
2) Many games are canceled because of unplayable field conditions
3) The bleachers are deteriorating and are hard to keep clean
4) There is a need for ADA accessibility for all spectators
5) The layout of the field is not player, coach, or fan friendly
Fundraising is underway to meet a $650,000 goal to complete Phase 1 of the project. These monies will be raised through various fundraisers, grants, partnerships, and private donations. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for seating, press box, dugouts, bleacher corners, scoreboard, community building, fence, backstop, and bullpens.
Phase 1 checklist:
• Scoreboard - completed Nov. 2023
• Fencing - completed Feb. 2024
• Dugouts
• Turf infield
• Relocate 2 lights poles
Goal for Phase 1 funding is August 1, 2024
